Garry Morel

Garry Morel, age 61, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo after a courageous battle against cancer. Garry was born July 18, 1955 in Toledo to Robert and Bronwen Morel. He worked as a carpenter and also owned his own delivery business. Garry was an avid reader, a dedicated Ohio State fan and loved classic rock music. His happy-go-lucky disposition and great sense of humor made him many friends throughout his life who enjoyed just being around him. Garry is survived by his daughter, Ryan (Michael) Houttekier; granddaughters, Mallory, Paige, and Phoebe, who lovingly called him Gramps brother, Richard (Candy) Morel; sister, Colleen (John) Hurley; niece, Mandy Morel; friend of 52 years, Rick Hady; special friend, JoAnn Mansfield; and partner in crime, Steve Buddy Murzynski. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Michelle Morel. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care provided by Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Wednesday from 2:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm.
