Garold F. Daup, 90, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, AZ. He was born on May 18, 1927 in Mansfield, OH to Wayne D. and Verena (Scheier) Daup. Garold served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1945-1947 during World War II. His first wife, Ruth (Tettau) preceded him in death in 1987. On October 4, 2001 in Green Valley, AZ he married Gerry L. (Dean) Conard, and she survives. Garold worked as a lifelong dairy farmer and formerly at the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton. He was a member of LaPointe United Methodist Church, Oak Harbor, the Masonic Lodge in Port Clinton for over 70 years, and the Ottawa County Shriners. Garold was a volunteer fireman for Erie Township for 20 years from 1968-1988 and served as an Erie Township Trustee for 9 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and shuffle boarding. In addition to his wife, Gerry, he is survived by his sons, Dennis Daup of Oak Harbor and Robert (Kayleen) Daup of Oak Harbor, 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren and step-daughter, Ann Starr-Sanford of New York, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ruth, son, Jerry Daup, and step-son, Daniel Starr and Dennis A. Conard. A Graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Chuck Kaylor at 10:30am, Saturday, August 04, 2018 at LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, OH, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30am at the Erie Twp. Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to LaPointe United Methodist Church or the Erie Towmship Vol Fire Dept. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor, OH, assisted the family with arrangements.
