Gale S. Magrum, 59, of Curtice, Ohio, unexpectedly died Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Gale was born August 31, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ervin C. and Frances E. Geldine Lenz. On June 30, 1972, in Williston, Ohio, she married Stephen A. Magrum, who survives her. Gale was passionate about teaching. She graduated with a masters degree from Bowling Green State University and taught in the Ottawa County schools for many years, most currently in Port Clinton. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Martin, where she was a Sunday School teacher. In addition to being a Mary Kay consultant and a member of the Red Hats Society, Gales many hobbies included scrap booking, cross stitching, sewing and gardening. Her most loved hobby was her family and friends; any occasion to gather for coffee and a chat. In addition to her husband, Stephen, Gale is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Ryan Lacer of Oak Harbor, Kendra Kerry Keppler of Helena, Kelli Jamie Lacer of Oak Harbor, and Kara Magrum of Curtice; and her grandchildren, Trenton, Kelsey, and Tristan Lacer and Hunter Lacer. She is also survived by her sister, Debra Clarence Wilburn of Millbury, aunt, Betty Geldine, God children, Jason Magrum, Laura Hiss, Alison Jakutowicz, and Mandy Johnson; mother-in-law, Betty L. Magrum, many nieces and nephews, best friend since first grade, Patricia Young, and her cats, Allie and Reggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary L. Lenz, and father-in-law, Carl A. Magrum. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, Ohio. Memorials for Gale may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17877 W. St. Rt. 579, Martin, OH 43445.
