Gail Sponseller

GAIL ELIZABETH SPONSELLER Gail E. Sponseller, 78, passed away November 8, 2018 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born July 2, 1940 in Canton, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy (Dipman) Wingerter. She was a graduate of Penn Hall Girls’ School in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and then attended college at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Gail was a multi-talented, award-winning artist whose passions included black & white photography, glass blowing and pottery. In hand with her reputation as a great artist, Gail’s affection for music and good company in stride with her relentless sense of humor will always hold true. Her enormous generosity and infectious warmth will never be forgotten. Gail will be dearly missed by her children, Leslie (Carl) Patron and Stephen Sponseller, grandson, Ned Patron and sister, Jan Dixon. Along with her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wingerter, Jr. Friends will be received Friday, November 16, 2018 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11 A.M. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Gail’s name to the DaZy Aphasia Centre at the University of Toledo, or to the Paws & Whiskers no kill Feline Shelter in Toledo.
