G. Daniel Dr. Stewart

Dr. G. Daniel Stewart, 82, of Catawba Island, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 06, 1929 to Dan & Grace Stewart in Ashland, OH. He served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at Eglin Air Force base and trained as an architect. Doc married his High School sweetheart, Esther Ferdina Langlois of Put-In-Bay, OH, December 24, 1947 when home on leave from the Air Force. He graduated from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry in 1958 and set up a private dental practice in Wooster, OH, where he practiced for 33 years. Doc is survived by his three sons: Dan, Jeff and Pat; brother: Roland and his 8 grandchildren: Daniel, MacKenzie, Gracey, Shane, Brennan, Kyle, Erin and Nicholas. He was very active in the community and in organized Dentistry. He was past president of the Stark County Dental Society, past delegate of the Ohio Dental Association, 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. His family was a tremendous source of pride for him. Dan is a dentist and practiced for 15 years in Wooster, the first 4 years with Doc and is now in Catawba Island, OH. Jeff is Director of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley in Dublin, OH and resides in Dublin. Pat is an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon in private practice in Effingham, IL and resides in Effingham. Doc was a beloved and respected member of the Wooster Community for 52 years. He was a firm, fair father who set high expectations and then backed his family with all his might. His last years were spent enjoying his 8 grandchildren. He was loved with no limits by his family and will be missed. There will be a private, immediate family only, ceremony. The family requests any donations to honor Doc may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
