G. Richard Shessler

G. Richard Shessler, 88, of Pemberville, Ohio, and formerly of Woodville, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Otterbein-Portage Valley, Pemberville. Richard was born in Genoa, Ohio, on April 16, 1925, to George & Anna Kassel Shessler. He married Janis Drummer and after her death, he married Mary Staskiewicz, who is also deceased. Richard was currently serving as CEO of Shessler Farms, Inc., having made his living in farming his whole life. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, where he had been active in the former Holy Name Society. Survivors of Richard include his daughter, Jane Larry Williams, of Maumee, OH, sons, Paul Mary Ann Shessler, Mooresville, NC, John Donna Shessler, Genoa, and Thomas Mark Palkovic Shessler, of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and sister, Audrey OLone of Sylvania, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Shessler, and his wives, Janis and Mary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main Street, Genoa, OH. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the food pantry of the donors choice. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, OH 43430, is assisting the family with arrangements.
