Frederick A. Wargowsky, 87, formerly of Williston, Ohio, died early Thursday morning, August 2, 2012, at the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, Ohio. Frederick was born May 7, 1925, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Paul M. and Wanda P. Harder Wargowsky. As a youth, Frederick was very involved in 4-H. Later he was a self-employed farmer in Lindsey, Ohio, and an agricultural field man for Northern Ohio Sugar Co. in Fremont, Ohio. He had also worked as a draftsman for Erie Proving Grounds, the Ares Inc. at the Erie Industrial Park in Port Clinton, Ohio, the Webster Manufacturing, Inc. in Tiffin, Ohio, and Toledo Edison in Fremont, Ohio. Frederick received technical certificates from Northern Toledo Technical Institute and Tool & Die Designing. He was a 20-year member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. His other involvements included the Ohio Farm Bureau and the Ohio Farm Bureau Youth Council. He had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Frederick had a passion for genealogy. He had books published, which are in the Elmore Public and Hayes Memorial Libraries. He was a member of the Ohio Genealogy Society and the Genealogy Societies at Ottawa, Richland and Lucas Counties. Frederick is survived by his son, Paul Robin Wargowsky of Jackson, OH, daughter, Patricia McCarty of Fremont, three grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and sisters, Rosemary Ken Weirich of Oak Harbor and Angie George of Walnut Creek, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Fayma D. Laberdee Clark Wargowsky, brother, Gaylord Wargowsky, and his infant sister, Judith Wargowsky. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, with visitation one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Frederick may be given to the American Heart Association, 1701 Woodlands Dr. Suite 200, Maumee, OH 43537.
