Frederick J. Titkemeier

Frederick J. Titkemeier, 88, of Woodville, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in the Genoa Retirement Village. He was born December 16, 1922, in Pemberville, Ohio, to Fred H. and Elizabeth Wiegman Titkemeier. On May 15, 1949 in Gibsonburg, Ohio, he married Irene C. Gerwin, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 1992. For 32 years, Fred was Kiln Fireman for the former Pfizer Company. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Fred was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church and the Clarence L. Nieman American Legion Post #455, both in Woodville. Fred is survived by his sons, Jon Rosemary of Woodville, OH., Gerald JerryKay of Genoa, OH., Harold Connie of Luckey, OH., and Donald Teri of Woodville, OH., 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sister, Lorene Roy of Elmore, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Irene, daughter, Carol M. Titkemeier, son Paul, sisters, Eunice Hartenfeld, Ruth McKee, Lois Loomis, Margaret Hamen, and brothers, Franklin, Herbert, and Robert. Visitation for Fred will be Wednesday June 15, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday June 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville, Ohio. Interment will be held in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, Ohio, where military graveside honors will be performed. Memorial contributions for Fred may be directed towards the Solomon Lutheran Church Major Improvement Fund, the American Cancer Society, or the Genoa Retirement Village Activities Fund.
