Frederick A Sneider

Frederick “Fred” Alexander Sneider, 72, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home. He was born in Toledo on October 21, 1948 to Francis Bernard and Marie (Smith) Sneider. Fred and his sweetheart, Dorothy Daoust, were married on June 20, 1969. They spent the next 48 years sharing a mutual devotion to family, faith, and each other until her passing on January 16, 2018. Fred was very social and active, and particularly enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing cards (especially poker). Fred loved to camp, because it provided opportunity for his favorite activity, spending time with his family. Fred was an avid fan of Toledo Rockets football and could routinely be seen in the stands until the final whistle, regardless of the weather or the score. Later in life, Fred loved to go dancing and traveling with his fiancé, Linda McKinsey. He retired from Marathon Special Products as a comptroller in 2013. He was a member of the Maumee Elks and a faithful member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Fred is survived by his children, Pamela (Steve) Miller, Cheryl (Geoff) Plummer, Marilyn (Mike) Trafelet, Becky (Sean) Stover, Angela (Billy) Horn, Vincent Sneider, Veronica (Pete) Millon, Joseph (Kayla) Sneider; 22 incredible grandchildren; 1 great grandchild with 1 on the way; siblings, James (Fran) Sneider, Larissa Sneider and Janice (Mike) O’Rourke; and fiancé, Linda McKinsey. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; brother, Thomas Sneider and his son-in-law, Timothy Ort. Friends and family will be received at St. John XXIII Catholic Church 24250 Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11 AM. For those wishing to attend virtually, please visit www.stjohn23.org to stream live. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on June 20, 2021.
