Frederick Joseph Fritz Shiple Jr. SHIPLE Frederick Joseph Jr. Fritz Fred Shiple, Jr. Fritz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4 2007, at Sunset Village in Sylvania. Born in 1917 to Fred, Sr. and Myrtle Shiple, in Perrysburg, he grew up on the family farm. This led to his lifelong interest in gardening, which continued at Sunset Village where Freds Garden continues to flourish. Until his retirement in 1985, he worked as service manager for the Revco now Rheem Company as service manager for specialized medical equipment. In this position he traveled all over the USA and to many other countries. Family and friends always came first, but he kept going with his many plans and projects. Fred loved taking care of his garden. He planted, fertilized, watered and harvested the vegetables, passing out produce to his friends and sharing with the staff and residents of Sunset Village. He loved to cook and enjoyed making and sharing his coups and pickles and microwave popcorn. When he couldnt get outside, Fred always had a woodworking project going on. He enjoyed playing bridge and euchre, and his sense of humor was apparent to everyone he met. He always had a joke ready for family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Myers. Several years after her death, he married Joanne Snook Shiple, who died in 2001. A daughter, Judy Sepanski; grandson, Matthew Shiple; brothers, Robert and Norm Shiple and sisters, Sister Mary Rita Shiple and Genevieve Myers also predeceased him. Surviving are his loving children, Dr. Fred Bobby Shiple, Dr. Marlene Glenn Medici Shiple, Chris Shiple, Mary Sonny Corder and Carol Dan Rominski; grandchildren, John Shiple, Christopher Molly Shiple, Sarah Paul Cox, David Shiple, Chad Danielle Corder, Corey Corder, Robert, Katie and Sara Rominski and Ashley Sepanski; great-grandchildren, Monica, Chad, Jr. and Caitlin Corder; son-in-law, Mark Sepanski also survives. Brothers, Joe Doris, Jim Margaret, and Thomas Wilma Shiple and sisters, Ursula Pauken and Caroline Al Smith also survive. The family thanks the Sunset Village community for helping to make Freds home of the last few years a very comfortable and loving place. Visitation will be held Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Rd. with Mass of the Resurrection following at 10 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Sylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests tributes to Sunset Village including the continuation of Freds Garden.
