Frederick A. Prochaska

Frederick A. Prochaska, 99, of Oregon, OH passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born on June 13, 1918 to Stanley and Stella (Novak) Prochaska in Seward, Nebraska. He was married for 69 years to the late Bernadine who passed away in 2016. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and later retired from General Motors in 1980. He enjoyed retirement on his small farm in Oregon, Ohio, tending to his animals and vegetables. Left to cherish his memory is his loving children, Ronald (Brenda) Prochaska, Judy Smith, Janie (Joe) Hajduk, Carol (Larry) Dick, and Anthony Prochaska; grandchildren, Richard (Amanda) Smith, Sara (Gary Hall) Smith, Jim Wiskochil, Jason Wiskochil, Brian (Michelle) Wiskochil, Brock (Courtney) Wiskochil,Tera (Randy) Sakowski, Beth (Tim) Holzemer, and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceeded by his grandaughter Bridget Marie Prochaska. The family gives Orchard Villa and North West Ohio Hospice a special thanks for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, in Oregon, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
