Frederick L. Jewett, 68, of Holland, OH, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, OH, on May 22, 1950, to Frederick and Burndena (Watts) Jewett, Sr. Fred married Mary Kawa on March 24, 1972, and together they raised two wonderful daughters. Growing up in Sylvania, Fred was a graduate of Sylvania Burnham High School and then attended the University of Toledo where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. Following his education, Fred started a career in sales as a retail buyer for The Andersons General Store. He was then self-employed for 25 years, during which time he owned The Oak Store and Dena’s Hallmark Store, both located in Holland. He ultimately retired from the inside sales team at The Tansey Group, Inc., also located in Holland. Fred enjoyed boating and was a former member of the Toledo Sailing Club. He loved sports, especially OSU football (go Bucks!), motorcycles, home improvement projects, and of course, a good beer. Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his loving wife, Mary Jewett; children, Melissa (Jeff) Westmeyer and Megan (Ben Ritterspach) Jewett; grandchildren Nick, Joe, and Grace Ritterspach and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH, 43528 (419-865-8879).
