Frederick Mark Bollinger II (Marky) 17, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Toledo Children’s Hospital. Marky was born in Toledo, Ohio, on January 12, 2007, to Fred and Jennifer Bollinger. He was their only child.

He attended New Horizons Academy at Sara’s Garden, Springfield Campus and was to be a senior this year.

Marky was known for his infectious laugh, smile, and strong hugs. He loved being outdoors and was often found on his swing flapping a book in his hands.

He loved pretzels, Cheez-Its, grilled cheese, pizza and, Gatorade. Marky loved all kinds of music, including Disney Junior and Mickey Mouse. His most prized possession was his green puppy “Scout” who would say “Hi, Marky!” Marky’s legacy lives on through his gift of life to others through organ donation.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Bollinger; G’ma Genevieve Bollinger; Jennifer’s fiancé, Martin Thomas and his children Molly and Eric; Marky’s aunts and uncles: Scott (Diana) Bollinger, Lorraine Hass, Robert (Renae) Schondel, and Steven (Cheryl) Schondel; his cousins: Elizabeth Bollinger (Brian Squertiri), Andrea Bollinger (Joe Jankowski) and Jackson Bollinger, Kayla (Kris) Wellman, Sara Schondel, Jonathan Schondel, and Lauren (Daniel) Galica.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Mark Bollinger; grandparents: Winfield Scott Bollinger, Jr., Robert Schondel, and Marian Schondel; and great-grandparents: Frederick and Uada Jackson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43623 at 4:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M on Sunday August 4, 2024. There will be a light dinner for friends and family following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to defray medical and funeral expenses as well as to implement a memorial plaque and fund at his school, New Horizons Academy.
