Frederic Fred Gene Foster

Frederic “Fred” Gene Foster, 74, of Swanton, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Fred was born June 28, 1943 in Marion, Ohio to Howard and Gladys E. (Branum) Foster. Fred went into the United States Army, and upon coming home, worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 30 years. Whilst there, he met the love of his life, Nancy, whom he married on March 2, 1974. Nancy preceded Fred in death in 2014. He was a member of the Neapolis Church of Christ. Fred also loved to travel with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Foster; siblings, Charles Minyoung, and Diane Hupp. Fred is survived by his children, Bill (Deanna) Foster, Amy Foster, Karla (Heidi) Horner-Raffaele, Vicki “Mite” (Eddie) Hartman, Vicky (Richard) Zamora, Samantha (Robert) Baser; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jerry (Viki Idol) Foster. Friends and family will be received at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at a later date at Toledo Memorial Park.
