Fred W. Weatherwax

Fred W. Weatherwax, 65, of Oak Harbor died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born on October 15, 1942 in Toledo to George and Mary Dysert Weatherwax and grew up in Harborview, Ohio. Fred graduated from Clay High School in 1960. On November 17, 1962 in Toledo he married Alice C. Wright and she survives. Fred worked for Toledo Edison in Northwood for 26 years, retiring in 1993. He then worked for Fleet Pride in Toledo from 1993-2006. Fred was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor, life member of the NRA, a chairman for the Oak Harbor Apple Fest Car Show, and collected watches and coins. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to car shows, and his 1965 GTO. Fred was a great dad and grandpa and will be greatly missed. Survivors include: his loving wife of 45 years, Alice; daughter: Dawn Jim Higgins of Fremont, son: Lester Cynthia Weatherwax of Oak Harbor, daughter: Kim Vestal of Oak Harbor, and daughter: April Roy Cover of Oak Harbor; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Gary Weatherwax. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 1008 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
