Fred Ewald Preuss

Fred Ewald Preuss, age 84, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2009 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on September 16, 1924 in Toledo to Max and Ella Ihle Mitsching. He attended Scott High School and graduated from Macomber High School before entering the U.S. Navy during WWII. Fred founded Preuss Mold & Die in January, 1975. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, and being around the water. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in a Ma and Pa League for many years. Fred taught volleyball and physical exercise at the Toledo Turners Athletic Club. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. The nurses at the dialysis center loved Freds pretty blue eyes. Fred is survived by his wife, Frances Fran children, Dan Russell Preuss, Lynn Carol Belote and Jeff Preuss; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Friends and family may visit at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Sunday from 3 to 8 pm. A private graveside service will be held on Monday.
