Fred B. Muetze

July 27, 1937 — June 16, 2014

Fred B. Muetze, of Oregon, Ohio died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his sons home. The son of Paul f. and Anna (Kasprzak) Muetze, he was born July 27, 1937 in LaCrosse, WI. He attended local schools and graduated from Logan High School in June 1956. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. After being honorably discharged he worked for Wisconsin Railroad. Fred began a career with AMC in Kenosha, WI in 1959 where he remained until 1985 when he was transferred to the Toledo area with Jeep retiring in 1999. On July 28, 1962 he married Donna L. Vineyard in Waukegan, IL. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in downtown Toledo. He was a member of Erie, MI VFW Post 3925, Luna Pier Legion Post 193 and the Riverview Yacht Club. Fred was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren, whos sporting events he loved to attend. He is survived by his children, Danna (Joel) Lynam of Freeport, IL, Dawn Muetze Fude of Burlington, WI, Paul F. Muetze of Wauwatosa, WI, Todd (Cherie) Muetze of Northwood, OH, Lee Ann (Bret) Johns of Sylvania, OH; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Fred is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Opitz, Beverly Frederickson of LaCrosse, WI, Shirley Gentile of Kenosha, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; sister, Mary Ann Woodruff; brother, Paul M. Muetze; brothers-in-law, Billy Frederickson, Tony Gentile, Robert Opitz, Richard Woody Woodruff, Wesley Vineyard; and sister-in-law, Lois (Nathan) Muetze. Family will receive friends on Thursday June 26, 2014 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at All Saints Cemetery where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 River Rd Perrysburg, OH 43551 or Disabled Veterans Assistance Foundation 28202 Cabot Rd.
