Fred W. Brown, Sr.

Fred W. Brown, Sr., 79, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on December 6, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joseph Brown, Jr., sister Alice Hooten and son Frederick Brown, Jr. Fred loved being around people and chose sales as his profession after serving in the Navy from 1955 to 1959 as an airplane mechanic. He worked as a beer and and wine salesman for a local Toledo distributor for over twenty years before he became a car salesman. He loved hs job as new car salesman at Dunn Chevrolet Buick and made many life-long friends there. Freds main interests were his family, friends and his dog. He loved having people over for barbeques and entertaining and cooking for friends and family. He would never turn a chance down to sing karaoke, loved to tell jokes and his house was always open to anyone who stopped by. He loved holidays and spending time with his children and grandchildren and walking his dog, Belle. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Brown, brother Charles Brown, sister Patricia Brown-Eley; daughters Sherri Dolan and Susan Allen; son Michael Brown; daughter-in-law Elaine Brown; and grandchildren Chelsea Simmons, Kara Dolan, Mallory Simmons, Joshua Brown and Brooklyn Brown. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
