Franklin M. Ackerman

Franklin M. Ackerman, age 86, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Franciscan Care Center. The son of Royal and Eva, he was born March 24, 1921 in Salem, New Hampshire. Franklin married the love of his life, Doris Edmunds on Nov. 15, 1941. He bought the Ackerman Lumber Yard from his father and operated the business until 1972. Franklin and his family moved to Ohio where he pursued a calling as a Methodist Pastor. He was an avid woodworker and a volunteer firefighter back in New Hampshire. Surviving are his wife, Doris; sons, Peter and Paul Jean Ackerman; grandchildren, Alicia, Eve, Angela, Norman, Michael, Jennifer, and David; brother, Roger of Salem, NH; sister Charlotte of Millville, DE. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shirley Masry; sons, Franklin W. David Alan Ackerman; and grandson, Franklin David Ackerman There will be no visitation or services. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry, New Hampshire. Memorial contributions may be given to the Franciscan Care Center, 4111 N. Holland Sylvania Rd Toledo, OH 43623 in honor of the continuing work of Sister Jordan, who was a great comfort to Franklin during his final months. Arrangements by the Walker Funeral Home.
