Frank Edward Wurzelbacher, age 68, passed away February 4, 2026, in Fond du Lac, WI. He was born on December 20, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Leroy and Christine (Tucker) Wurzelbacher. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On January 2, 1982, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Kay, beginning a devoted marriage built on love, laughter, and shared traditions.
When the family moved to Holland, Ohio, the Wurzelbacher family quickly became known in the neighborhood as "The Waltons", because he was almost always outside, football in hand, playing with his sons.
Frank loved gardening alongside his wife, filling their yard with the plants and flowers they cherished together. He especially enjoyed hiking in the woods with his grandchildren, making memories that will be treasured forever. A lifelong music lover, Frank was an avid rock and roll enthusiast who could recall every concert he attended-how great it was and exactly how much the ticket cost.
Family traditions meant everything to Frank. He looked forward to football Sundays, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals while making his famous homemade nachos and guacamole. If a Cincinnati Reds game was on television, you always knew exactly where to find him. Frank was a true animal lover, with dogs holding a special place in his heart. Every dog he had was spoiled beyond measure. His most recent best friend, Tucker, will dearly miss daily walks and table scraps.
Above all else, Frank loved his "grandbabies" beyond measure and was an active, devoted presence in their lives throughout the years. As he always said, "That's what it's all about."
He is survived by his son, Robert (Danielle) Wurzelbacher; daughter-in-law, Katie Wurzelbacher; grandchildren, Joey (Victoria), Cody (Darinka), Victoria (Matt), Samantha, Henry, and Sara Wurzelbacher; great-grandchildren, Oakleigh, Colton, Charlotte, and Scarlet; sisters, Ada (Daniel) Baker, and Katie (David) Baker; sisters-in-law, Shelly Wurzelbacher, and Irene Johnson; brother-in-law, Leonard Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Christine; wife, Phyllis Kay; son, Samuel J Wurzelbacher; grandsons, Darren and Derrick Wurzelbacher; and brothers, Phil and Randy Wurzelbacher.
Family and friends may visit Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10 am-12 pm at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St. Genoa. The Funeral Service will begin at 12 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
