Frank J. Wilcox, age 70, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home in Sylvania Township. Frank was born on February 20, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Marion Wilcox. He attended Ladyfield Catholic School, and graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1960. He also attended Miami University, the University of Toledo, and proudly served in the United States Army. Frank was a lifelong Toledo resident who made his career in real estate. He was a member of the Toledo Board of Realtors, the Maumee River Yacht Club, and the Crews Nest on Put-In-Bay. He loved the water and spent many summer days around Lake Erie at Port Clinton, Catawba Island, and Put-In-Bay. Frank was a funny man. Anyone who knew him surely thinks of him as one of the funniest people they ever encountered. He had an easy wit, whether he knew it or not. His unique parlance and unforgettable mannerisms will forever form a part of his familys memory. He was a loving and caring man who was always willing to put others before himself. Those who will so sorely miss him can always take comfort in knowing that they were acquainted with a one of a kind person. Franks memory will be cherished by all who knew him, especially his best friend and partner Barbara Vass; his children, Jacqueline Wilcox, Sarah Dave Latta, and their mother Marsha Loos, Colleen Douglas Long, Frank J. Wilcox, Jr. Tracy Gehlert, and their mother Patricia Duck Wilcox; his grandchildren, Emily Komisarek, Allison and Andrew Latta, and Megan, Cailin, Brendan and Ryan Long. Frank will be sorely missed by his sisters, Victoria Daniel Krauss, and Joan Bob Kefalonitis Slott, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new granddaughter, his sons first child. Frank cherished the relationships he had with his nieces and nephews, Mary Terry Ryan, Amory Nancy Slott, Carolyn Slott, David Alison Krieger, Jr., John Krauss, Victoria Carl Schaffer Krauss. Frank had a special relationship with Barbaras daughter, Michelle Daren Short, and her children, Ashley Riggie, Shawna Whitaker, and Alexandria and Brock Short. He will also be greatly missed by his many dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and his nephew, Peter Krauss. Friends and family may visit on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 2:00-9:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. West of Corey Road. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8 at 10:30 AM, and will be followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM at Gesu Roman Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
