Frank C. Poncho Vargas, Jr.

'Hello, I'm Poncho Vargas, Jr. I'm 69 years old from Holland, Ohio.' was Frank's signature introduction to everyone who knew and loved him. He passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 25, 1948 to Frank C. and Manuela (Rodriguez) Vargas, Sr. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed going out to dinner after attending Mass. An Ohio State Football fan, Poncho was very active and could often be seen riding his bike. He enjoyed Elvis Presley's music and his movies, loved to play Bingo and dance the 'Wobble-Wobble'. He is survived by his siblings, Esther Vargas, Patsy (Jerry) Bastien, Gloria (Alejandro) Martinez, Martha Gonzales, Lisa (David) Downard, Amy Lynn (Nick) O'Neal, Manuel Vargas, Andy (Laura) Vargas and Greg (Claudia) Vargas; nieces and nephews and his significant others, Patty Zuruka and Janice Beebe. Frank was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879) where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday, September 11, 2017 with Prayers at 9:15 AM and then proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill Avenue, Toledo, OH 43615 for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
