Frank W. Sampsel, age 55, of Ottawa Hills, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. Vincent Cardiac Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 6, 1954 to Morris Sam and Betty Ward Sampsel. On April 6, 1985 he married Kathy Smith in Toledo. Frank worked for Doehler-Jarvis for 16 years and was the former owner of Michigan Tavern in Temperance, Michigan. He loved corvettes and was an avid New York Yankees and New York Jets fan. Frank is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Dallas, Trevor and Shelby; brother, Terry Shirley Sampsel; sister, Sherry Larry Green; brother-in-law, Kevin Kim Smith and mother-in-law Peggy Smith. He is also survived by 3 nieces and nephews and 7 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Ralph J. Smith. Friends and family may visit on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association, 30200 Telegraph Rd.
