Frank G. Pirozzi, age 90, passed away Monday September 24, 2012 at Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation. The son of Mario and Rose Pirozzi, he was born April 12, 1922 in Manville, NJ. He is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor in Foreign Services. Frank served his country during WWII in the US Army and was honorably discharged. From 1945-1946 he studied economics at Besancon University in France. He married the love of his life, Eleanor Zimmerman on Feb. 19, 1949. He had a long and successful career as an international internal auditor and retired from Owens-Illinois.. Frank enjoyed the computer and playing bridge. He spoke 7 languages and traveled extensively worldwide through his work and in retirement. His greatest joy was his family whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; children, Frank Pirozzi, Louisa Peter Pirozzi-Erb, Timothy Pirozzi, Gabrielle Wulf Reinicke, Martine Pirozzi; grandchildren, Han and Meea Erb, Theresa Tony Paliomilo, Rachael Pirozzi; great grandson, Nathan; sisters, Margaret Kai Christensen and Alba Gillis. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Arnold. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at the funeral home with prayers at 11:30 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at Christ the King Catholic Church at 12:00PM. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
