FRANK DONALD HUNTLEY, SR. Frank D. Huntley, Sr., 87, passed away May 30, 2012 at Kingston of Perrysburg. Frank was born November 5, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to William G. and Clarice (Crocker) Huntley. Frank proudly served our country in the United States Navy in WWII as a Quartermaster, third class, SV-6. Frank married Ethel Marie Hall on September 4, 1949 in Findlay Ohio and she survives. Frank graduated with two Bachelor’s Degrees from Bowling Green State University, and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Frank worked as a Geochemist for Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company, now Pilkington for thirty-five years, retiring in 1991. Frank was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Perrysburg, where he was a Sunday school teacher and held many other positions. Frank was a Boy Scout Leader as well as a Geological Merit Badge Counselor. Frank was a charter member of the Perrysburg Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award; the highest award in Lionism. Frank enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and golfing. Frank’s greatest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Frank is survived by his devoted wife Ethel Marie and children, Frank D. (Beth) Huntley, Jr. and Anna M. (Harry) Fink; grandchildren, Eric, Caitlin and Andrew ; sister-in-law, Mary (Robert) Swanson and special friends, Charles and Sharon Thomas and William and Gail Montrie. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Grace Ellen Huntley. Friends will be received Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2:30-8:30 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where a Lions Club service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Second Street, Perrysburg with Pastor Gary Rode and Pastor Douglas Sonnenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Kingston of Perrysburg and the staff at Perrysburg Hospice for their continuous care and support. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to First United Methodist in Perrysburg or Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
