Frank W. Harris

Frank W. Harris, 77, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on November 02, 1936 in Forest City, NC, the son of Richard Andrew and Marjorie Alva Harris Harris. On May 26, 1984 in Port Clinton, he married Rebecca I. Robbins and she survives. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a laborer for General Motors in Flint, MI, until his retirement in 1992. Frank was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1718, Moose Lodge #1610 and the American Bowling Association all of Port Clinton, OH. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Frank especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include: Loving Wife of 29 years: Becky I. Harris; Daughter: Christie Henry Sewell; Son: John Beth Prentice; Mother-in-Law: Ruby Travillian; Sister: Linda Runion; Sister-in-Law: Priscilla Charles Elswick; Brother-in-Law: Don Gail Carroll; Grandchildren: Gaven & Haylie Sewell, Courtney & Caitlyn Prentice, Randy, Kendra, Elianna, Declyn & Max Walton, Kurrie, Chantel & Valo Lewis and several loving Nieces & Nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: Harold Runion. Visitation will be 12-2PM, Thursday, April 03, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a memorial service held at 2:00PM. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH, with a military graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, on behalf of the Frank Harris family.
