Francis J. Frank Gulyas, age 79, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 in St. Lukes Hospital. He was born February 10, 1931 in Toledo to Frank and Barbara Kandik Gulyas. Frank was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a supervisor in the payroll department at L.O.F. for 37 years. Frank was a parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, member of the Rossford American Legion and volunteered at St. Josephs Church as a bingo caller for 15 years. He was the manager of the L.O.F. softball team and member of the Toledo Umpire Association. An avid bowler for over 25 years he also coached his sons team for many years. Frank enjoyed dancing, but the greatest love of his life was his family. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Carol J. Carver Gulyas; son, Jeffery Danielle Gulyas; grandchildren, Miranda Noelle Gulyas and Jeffery Daniel Gulyas; sister, Louise Jim Weyer; brother-in-law, Robert Bob Prentiss; nieces, Susie Prentiss, Patty Bobby Benson, Dawn Dwayne Wacenske and Christine Carver; nephews, Russ Betsy Weyer and Bryan Evelyn Weyer; many cousins and special friends. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Prentiss and brother, Gerald Gulyas. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 3-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services will begin Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.
