FRANK EVANS BOWKER, JR. Frank Evans Bowker, Jr, 90, of Perrysburg, Ohio and formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg. Frank was born on March 5, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank E. and Carolyn (Miller) Bowker. He graduated from the Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA and served in the US Army before earning a degree in Psychology from Princeton University via the GI Bill and ROTC. He served once again in the Army during the Korean War until his discharge upon the death of his father. He worked in Human Resources Administration for Chevron/Gulf Oil Corporation in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh for 26 years. He moved to Punta Gorda in 1986 and lived there until December 2016 when he moved to Perrysburg to be near his daughter and her family. Frank enjoyed singing and music, playing tennis, skiing and travelling. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Punta Gorda. He was a former member of the Suncoast Statesmen Barbershop Chorus and the Burnt Store Country Club, and frequently enjoyed the programs at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center. He volunteered for Our Place Community Recreation and Training which supports the needs of developmentally disabled adults. He especially enjoyed spending summer vacations with his family at Lake Naomi in Pocono Pines, PA. Frank is survived by his two daughters, Virginia Bowker and Mary (Mark) Kaczinski, and three grandchildren Melanie, Megan and Matthew Kaczinski. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Katharine (Scott) Bowker, as well as special friend June Walter. A memorial service will be held in Punta Gorda at a later date, and burial will be at the Pocono Lake Cemetery in Pocono Lake, PA.
