Francis Robel

Francis George Robel, 96, of Marblehead, Ohio, peacefully transitioned to his eternal home on February 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Known affectionately as Fran, he is now enjoying a heavenly view of the wildlife he adored from his cherished bay window.

Born on July 30, 1929, Fran was a lifelong resident of Marblehead, a community he cherished dearly. He embraced life with joy and determination, attending St. Joseph's Catholic School where he forged lifelong friendships despite facing the challenge of having only one arm. His spirited enthusiasm led him to participate in every sport available during his youth, exemplifying his resilience and strength.

Fran dedicated 47 years of his life to Marblehead Quarry, where his contributions were felt deeply. In his personal life, he celebrated a beautiful marriage to Helen Theresa Bodine on July 11, 1979, who sadly preceded him in death on April 15, 2022.

A devoted family man, Fran leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Ed (Kathy) Stevens, Ted (Marty) Stevens, and Mary (Tobious) Huebbe. He will be remembered fondly by twenty grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and laughter. He was preceded in death by parents, his wife, and his children, Ron Stevens, Cindy Hummell, Larry Stevens, and Susan Huskey.

Fran's family invites all who knew and loved him to join in celebrating his remarkable life. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead Ohio from 10 am until the Funeral Mass at 11 am with Fr. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Cemetery in Huron, Ohio.
