Frankie

Francis “Frankie” W. Koberstein, 74, of Toledo, OH passed away Thursday, January 13 ^th , 2022, at Arbor’s of Oregon. He was born April 25, 1947, in Toledo, OH to Frank and Helen (Erd) Koberstein.

Frankie worked at many well-known Toledo locations, such as Cousino’s Steakhouse, Frank Uncles, and Lott Industries. He loved talking to people and knew everyone around his neighborhood. He would ride the TARTA bus and befriend whoever sat next to him that day. He claimed that he never smoked but would still hide his favorite corn-cobb pipe from his family. He liked to go out to eat and watch some classic shows on TV Land. He was a jokester since he was young, clapping his hands over his mom’s mouth whenever she sang a tune and would say, “don’t sing!” His love for people never ended, always swinging on his porch to people watch, or attending any church festival happening in the area.

Frankie is survived by his sister, Karen Koberstein, his brother, Don Koberstein, and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Patricia Jaeger-Herman and Jean Hochanadel.

A joint visitation will be held for Frankie and his sister, Patricia, Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, OH. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Frankie may be given to donor’s choice or to a vote towards TARTA.
