Francis J Kirdahy

Francis J. Kirdahy, age 87 of Toledo entered into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2016. He was born September 22, 1928 in Toledo to John and Affife (Copti) Kirdahy. He attended St. Francis DeSales grade school and graduated from Woodward High School. He was drafted into the army and served as a Corporal in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged he met the love of his life, the former Lillian David in Detroit, Michigan. He began his career as a master electrician and later became an electrical inspector for the State of Ohio and ended his career working for a local engineering firm. Francis also co-owned a night club with his brother, Tony. He was well known in many Middle Eastern Communities for the joy he and his late dear friend Phil Sahadi brought with countless celebrations of their Arabic music. Preceded in death by his sister Marie (George) David he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian; children John (Yadira) Kirdahy, Renee (John) Ellis and Sharon (Doug) Barker; grandchildren Nick (Alexandra) , Lauren, Lindsey, Alexa, Jonathan and Paulisa; great-granddaughter Noelle; brother Tony (Tatiana) Kirdahy; and numerous nieces and nephews. The celebration of his life will begin with visitation at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Tuesday, April 12 from 2-8 PM with Trisagion prayers at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 13 after 9 AM in Christ the King Church 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo where the Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Fund, (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or Christ the King Church.
