Francis J. Foley

Francis J. Foley, age 83, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The son of Patrick and Elizabeth (Lynch) Foley, he was born January 8, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Frank graduated from De La Salle High School in Detroit, Michigan and then proudly served in the US Military stationed in Germany. Frank was employed by Wabash LaGrange Steel in Toledo and was transferred to Cincinnati to become general manager of O’Neal Steel until he retired in 1998. Frank was a passionate golfer. He and Pat enjoyed golfing with friends and family and spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying the game. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hosting holidays. In his spare time he was always busy working on projects around the house. Frank was devoted to Pat and lovingly cared for her. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Foley and sister-in-law, Barbara Foley. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Wolfe) Foley, children, Colleen (Mark) Rediger, Brian (Susan) Foley, Jean (Scott) Gist and Julie (John) Rosa. Grandchildren Nicholas (Annie) Rediger, Heather (Jason) Beier, Katie Rediger, Patrick (Haley) Rediger, Julianne (Erik) Balster, Emily (Dan) Howarth, Griffin Gist and Christy Rosa. Great grandchildren Elliott and Jack Rediger, Anne Marie, George and John Beier, Hendrix and Ava Annaliese Balster. Brothers and Sisters Patricia (Jack) Robbins, Thomas Foley, sister-in-law Renee Foley, Patrick (Judy) Foley, Catherine Foley, Terence (Helen) Foley, Daniel Foley and Maureen Foley. Many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin on Thursday with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church Sylvania, OH. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
