Francis N. Butch Carter, 69, master carpenter of Oregon, Ohio, began his new life on Saturday, March 14, 2009. He had been a resident of the Arbors of Oregon. Butch was born in Cumberland, MD, October 22, 1939, to John & Reeta Stritchfield Carter. He was a master carpenter his entire life and had worked for the L.O.F. Company of Rossford, Ohio, for 19 years. Butch loved to spend time with his family playing games and just enjoying their company. He also liked to fish, play pool and cards, and was a true NASCAR fan. Butch also had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his children, Alan N. Mary Ann Carter, Sr., Jeffrey Debbie Carter, Cyndi Pete Shupe Reed, mother of his children and special friend, Brenda Carter, along with grandchildren, Jane Wolf, Cathy Ortner, Alan Carter, Jr., Christina Ortner, Aricca Sorg, Ashley Williams, James Ortner, and Zackery Williams. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Aurora, Josef, Alan III, Aden, Lilly, Anthony, Autumn, Wyatt, and another one on the way, sisters, Evelyn Snyder, Carlon Mummert, Connie Wilcox, Emma Ewing, and Ina Heath, and sisters-in law, Sylvia and Sally. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Ronnie Carter. A memorial service for Butch will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, in Solomon Lutheran Church, Main St., Woodville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, OH 43430 is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to especially thank Odyssey Health Care Hospice for their care.
