Frances L. Smith

Frances L. Smith, 88, of Monclova, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 29, 1927 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to Henry Lewis and Celestia Edith (Gibson) Cook. She married Leonard L. Smith on July 1, 1967. Fran was a devoted member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was a loving mother who took pride in raising her six children. Fran enjoyed singing gospel and hymns with her family, often around the kitchen table. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet. Fran is survived by her children; Darlene Pontious-Soles (Tracey), Judy (Jack) Sevrence, Richard (Ronel) Pontious, Joanne Mercer (Syd), Roy L. Meade, Diane Patterson, Janice Corbett and Robert (Patricia) Pontious; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings Iva Lee Thomas, Orville Douglas Cook and Jesse S. Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Celestia Cook, husband Leonard Smith, daughter Linda Sue, four brothers, one sister and one grandson. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879). Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 665 W. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville. Memorial contributions in Fran’s name may be made to Bethel Assembly of God.
