Frances Straub Sears born in Toledo on April 24th, 1925, died peacefully in her Perrysburg home on October 1st, 2010. Frances was a lifelong resident of the Toledo area. She graduated from Mary Manse College in 1947. Frances had a very active life and leaves behind many friends. She was a longtime member of the American Association of University Women and participated in many of their study groups. She was also a member of The Toledo Museum of Art and volunteered in the library there for many years. Other organizations which benefited from her participation include The Anne Grady Foundation and The Hamlet Board of Directors. She was fortunate to travel often and had many interests. Frances was a loving and generous woman and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her five children; Carol Johnson Glenn, Joan Sears Gerald Itkin Russell Sears Karen, Ann Hagerstrand Eric, and Ellen Mislan Todd, as well as her five grandchildren; Emily Lobono Chris, Elizabeth Johnson Eric Hosemann, Julie Hagerstrand, Daniel Hagerstrand, and Carly Mislan and one great-grandchild, Charlotte Lobono. Also surviving are her siblings, Suzanne Saal, Thomas Straub, and Barbara Gregory as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell L. Sears and sister, Julie Straub Donahue. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ursuline Center of Toledo or Moms House.
