Frances L Kusz

Frances L. Kusz, age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her home. The daughter of William Edgell and Bessie Jenkins, she was born October 29, 1941 in Toledo. She attended Woodward High School until her senior year when she married Ronald Kusz on August 23, 1958. Together they raised 6 children. In 1967, Frances went back to school at Scott High School and earned her GED. Early in her working career, she worked for Frisch’s and Denny’s as a waitress and then worked for Arnold Realty for 5 years. Frances and Ron purchased a Phillips 66 and she was the finance manager. She was the secretary/treasurer and tournament director for YABA, a youth bowling association. She was also secretary/treasurer for the Monday morning men’s league at Showcase Lanes, Glass Bowl Lanes and Miracle Lanes for 50 years. Later, Frances and Ron operated “This Wood Works” and traveled to various craft shows to display and sell their crafts. Ron would create wood cut-outs and Frances would paint them. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Sr; children, Katherine Kusz, Ronald (Gina) Kusz, Jr., Kandy (Mark) East, John (Andrea) Kusz; son-in-law, Bob Horner; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ronnie III, Amanda, Wil, Dannielle, Mychelle, Stephannie, Corey, Bobby, Jr.; great grandchildren, Mason, Hunter, Anna, Tony, Lilly Ann, Allison, Ava, Tre; siblings, Rosemary (Richard) Henault and Earl Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her children, Karen Horner, Michael Kusz; siblings, Jean Edwards, Lee and Jimmy Jenkins and her parents. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 2-9 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) and will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Due to the current health crisis there will be no wake following the service.
