Frances Little Keiser, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died May 21, 2024, at the age of 93. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed by many. Frances was gracious, kind, and ever curious, a true treasure, and a positive force to all who knew her. Frances was born to Charles and Frances Little in Toledo, Ohio on December 6, 1930. She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School, went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and later obtained her Masters degree in education at the University of Toledo. Along with raising her two daughters, Susan and Betsy, managing her home and a beautiful garden, she taught reading in the Sylvania school system for many years. Frances served on the board of the YWCA of Toledo for seven years, two as president. She was a member of Epworth Methodist church, serving on several committees.
On July 11,1953, Frances married Robert Drake Keiser in Toledo. Together they grew their family while moving eleven times in eighteen years for Bob’s career. Frances’ friendly personality allowed her to make many lifelong friends along the way. Preceding her in death are her parents, her step-mother Zuleme Little, siblings Edwin Little, Mary Jane Luecker, and Robert Little, husband Robert Keiser, daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Roarty and infant daughter Kathryn Keiser.
Frances is survived by her sister Ginevera Barta, daughter Susan (David) Jamieson, son-in-law, Mike Roarty, grandchildren David (Sara) Jamieson, Dan (Kate) Jamieson, Julie (Christopher) Swenson, Sarah (John) Wilson, Michael (Samantha) Roarty, Katherine (Garrett) Ebel and Emily Roarty. Frances is also survived by 10 great grandchildren (with one on the way) who delighted her in every way, and a very special earth angel, Tina Morgan.
In lieu of flowers her family requests donations be made to the YWCA of Northwest Ohio, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to an organization of the donor’s choice. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Walker Funeral Homes, Toledo, OH, is assisting in the arrangements..
But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower, its bloom is shed;
Or like the snow falls in the river,
A moment white, then melts forever.
