Frances Wenzel Condon passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio. Born on November 7, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Fred and Marie Gildea Wenzel, she attended St. Ann School, St. Ursula Academy and University of Toledo. She married her husband, John N. Condon, on Oct. 15, 1949 at Rosary Cathedral in Toledo. She met John while both were working at Libby Owens Ford. Fran also worked at Owens Illinois. Fran and John lived on Drummond Road in Old Orchard and were members of Gesu Church. In 1966, the family moved to Birmingham, Michigan, where Fran enjoyed attending her childrens functions at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, Marian High School, Brother Rice High School and Groves High School. Fran loved to play bridge and bowl and participated in many area leagues and enjoyed her friends at Oakland Hills Country Club. Fran delivered Meals-on-Wheels and volunteered for the American Cancer Society while living in Birmingham. Fran and John returned to the Toledo area in 1985, settling in Sylvania. They lived at Versailles-in-the-Woods, where they made many new friends. Fran was an active bridge player at her condominium complex and at the following: Sylvania St. Joes, Christ the King, St. Ursula and Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She also delivered Mobile Meals to area residents. Also survived by her Anderson, Wenzel and Condon nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 419-841-2422, Thursday, Mar. 10 from 3-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 419-531-1421, Friday, Mar. 11 at 11 a.m. Visitation begins at church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo.
