Father Scott R. Carroll, 46, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on May 10, 2013. He was born in Toledo, OH on August 5, 1966 to Robert J. and Patricia R. Dennis Carroll. Father Carroll completed his studies at Saint Meinrad Seminary in Saint Meinrad, Indiana earning both a Masters Degree in Catholic Thought and a Masters Degree of Divinity. During that time, he also completed a Masters Degree in Education Administration from the University of Dayton. Fr. Carroll served his Pastoral Internship year at St. Paul, Norwalk and was ordained a priest on May 8, 2013. He was assigned as Associate Pastor of St. Joseph, Maumee. Father Carroll was a 1984 graduate of St. Johns Jesuit High School. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education and his Masters Degree in History from the University of Toledo and taught for 18 years at Swanton Middle School where he also coached football. Father Carroll was a longtime advisor of the Anthony Wayne Trailblazers 4H Club. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed hiking at Oak Openings Preserve. He is survived by his father, Robert Connie Carroll, brothers; Patrick Annette Carroll, Timothy Katherine Carroll; nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Faith, Macie Claire and Maxwell; aunts, Geneva Roller, Joan Robert Mossing, Eunice Norman Gilbert and close cousins; Raymond Theresa Roller and Jenny Dave Rogers. He was preceded in death by mother; Patricia Rose Dennis Carroll; grandparents; Clarence and Marie Carroll, Raymond and Helen Dennis, uncle, Robert Roller and nephews Andrew and Jacob Carroll. Reception of the body will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday May 13, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St., Maumee, Ohio. Visitation will continue from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at the church with a Vesper service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral where the Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Leonard P. Blair as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.
