On Christmas Day, 1923 a true angel was born. For 89 years Forest Vale Perrine lived to create a legacy that will live on for years to come. On April 17th, 2013 our angel was called home. For those of you that were blessed to have known him, you know that he lived to fish and hunt, cheer on the Chicago Bears and Cubs, that there was nothing in the world that he couldn't fix with duct tape, but most of all you know that he loved like no one else could ever love. His childlike smile and tender blue eyes said it all. There was nothing that meant more to him than his family. During 65 years together, he and Grandma created a legacy that included 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He served in the US Navy, fought for our freedom in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. Whether you called him Dad, Granddad, Uncle, Brother, Cousin or simply 'Old Man',you know that he was a man of compassion, devotion and selflessness but most of all a man with the gentlest soul.
