Forest R Kosch

Forest Rae Forey Kosch, age 85, of Maumee, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born in Maumee to Albert and Fay Matthewson Kosch on June 12, 1928. Forest married Glenna Kopp of Perrysburg on June 27, 1947, and recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Forey was employed as a glass worker and crane operator at Libbey Owens Ford for 30 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Maumee where he was involved in the mens breakfasts, soup suppers, Happy Hearts, visitations to the shut-ins and his greatest joy was tending the rose gardens and flower beds. He was also an active member of the Maumee Senior Center for which he was awarded Outstanding Volunteer in 2006. Forey volunteered for over 35 years at St. Lukes Hospital as a Chaplins Aide. He also held worship services at Northwest Ohio Development Center and Whitehouse Country Manor. Forey was named Maumee Citizen of the Year in 2000 and inducted to the Athletic Hall of Fame at Maumee High School in 2004. In 2001, the City of Maumee proclaimed January 18th, Forey Kosch Day. Even though Dad received many awards here on earth, he now has received his greatest reward from his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ spending eternity with Him in Heaven. His favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:30, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. KJV. Surviving is his loving wife, Glenna; daughters, Linda Henry Garn and Diane Joe Huber; son, David Jill Kosch; grandchildren, Wendy Russ Rooker, Jim Michelle Richardson, Clay Abbey Huber, Cory Mark LoVellette, Tiffany Corey Doughty, Kali Seth Makula and Brandon Kosch; great grandchildren, Roxy, Jacob, Spencer, Parker, Joy and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 8 brothers. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 112 E. Wayne Street, Maumee, Ohio at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Swan Creek Cemetery, Monclova, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Maumee Senior Center, 2340 Detroit Avenue, Maumee, Ohio.
