Florentine M Wheeler

Florentine M. Wheeler, 93, of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, December 11, 2010 the Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont, Ohio. She was born on November 8, 1917 in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Harmon and Rose Hasenmeier Schultz. On June 18, 1938 in Oak Harbor, OH she married Russell L. Wheeler, and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1970. Florentine was a homemaker, but for 15 years worked as a secretary for Dr. Gordon Ley and Dr. Robert Minick. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, and the Eastern Stars Chapter #133 in Fremont. She loved gardening, taking trips to Florida and Mexico with her husband, and espesically loved cooking and baking with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Florentine is survived by her daughters, Judith Gary Witt of Oak Harbor, Virginia Barry Finken of Oak Harbor, and Susan Dick Boyer of Fremont, grandchildren, David LuAnn Witt, Jerry Kelly Witt, Steven Cathy Witt, Kent Leslee Finken, Kristina Finken, Jason Debbie Lenke, and Barbara Eric Oehler, step grandchildren, Kevin Mellissa Boyer, and Jennifer Chris Lachner, 13 great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, infant grandson, Kevin Finken, sisters, Helen Moore, Martha Heller, Leona Sahloff, and Dorothy Guntsch, brothers, Carl and Arthur Schultz Per Florentines request there will be no traditional sevices as she will be cremated. A Memorial service for Florentine will be on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at 11:00am at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Oak Harbor, where the family will greet family and friends from 10:30am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed towards St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, or the Ottawa County Humane Society.
