Florence A. Ryder, “Flossy” to her friends, “Mom” to her sons, and “Nanny” to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, died peacefully, on March 24th 2016 at the age of 96. Florence is survived by her son Robert and his wife Colleen, son James; her six grandchildren, Brett, Jamie and wife Shauna, Matthew and spouse Chris, Michael and wife Stacy, Nicholas and Caitlin, and her five great grandchildren Zachary, Remington, Mikayla, Makenzie, and Morgan. Born on July 4th, 1919, to Frank and Matilda Ernsthausen, Florence was a lifelong resident of Perrysburg. A dedicated mother, friend, and wife, Florence will be most remembered for her wit, wisdom, caring nature, and steadfast commitment to her family. She married Clifford Ryder on Christmas Eve, 1938. For 55 years they farmed, laughed, loved and raised a family, together. Florence was one of the last surviving members of the Farm Bureau Three Point Council. Friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (874-3133) on Saturday, March 26, 2016 after 10am. Funeral services will be held at 12pm. Burial will be held directly after services at New Belleville Ridge Cemetery; all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to the Michael Ryder Scholarship Fund at Cornerstone Schools, 68681 East Nevada, Detroit, Michigan 48234.
