Florence F. Hesselbart, 96, of Genoa, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, August 31, 2011, in the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa. Florence was born in Hessville, Ohio, on August 9, 1915, to Henry and Murretta Flegle Brinkman. On January 4, 1938, in Genoa, she married Warren C. Hesselbart and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1982. Florence was a graduate of Genoa High School Class of 1933 and had attended the University of Toledo. Florence, along with her husband, operated the former Red & White Grocery Store and the former Lathams Super Market, both in Genoa. She was a lifetime member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. Survivors of Florence include her daughter, Ruth M. Drossel of Woodville, sons, Richard C. Hesselbart of Graytown, and Roger F. Penny Hesselbart of Oveida, Florida; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, five nephews and three nieces. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Roberta Hesselbart, brother, Robert Brinkman, and son-in-law, Mike Drossel. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. The burial will take place in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions for Florence be given to the Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N. Main St., P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551; or St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH 43430. The family wishes to thank the Genoa Retirement Village for their love and care given to Florence.
