Flora E. Sander

Flora E. Wagner Sander, 91, of Genoa passed away Saturday morning, July 27, 2013 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 4, 1921 in Toledo, the daughter of Lurena A. Starkey & Elmer R. Wagner. On October 14, 1944, she married Lowell O. Sander and he preceded her in death October 31, 1980. Flora was a beautician for more than 60 years having worked at several shops in the Toledo area. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Perrysburg. She taught Sunday school for over 25 years and had delivered taped services to shut in members. Flora was a volunteer at St Charles Hospital for 15 years and was a member of the Swiss Ladies, the Maumee Eagles and Maumee Elks. She was a member of the Dendarah Court #10 of the Zenobia Shrine. Flora loved to dance, bowl, play cards and golf; she never let grass grow under her feet! Flora is survived by her children: Dr. Duane Carol Sander of Elmore, Diane Paul Henry of Genoa & David Barbara Sander of Genoa; grandchildren: Richard Rebecca Henry, Mark Henry, Laura Dr. Andrew Mack, Christine Justin Carlson, Rebecca Sander, Dara Sander; great grandchildren: Wyatt Henry, Marcus & Alexis Ross, Rory & Brennen Mack & Reid Carlson; brothers: Royal Phyllis Wagner of Toledo & Elmer Trudy Wagner of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, husband and infant son: Ronald L. Sander. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church 26535 Pemberville Rd, Perrysburg, OH 43551, with burial to follow in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey.
