Flora C. Green

Flora C. Green, 88, died on January 25, 2014. She was born in Elmore, Ohio, on June 6, 1925, to John and Clara Gerber Niehausmyer. At the age of ten, she went to live with Robert and Cecil Torrence of Toledo, Ohio. She was a graduate of Waite High School and The College of Wooster. On February 21, 1948, she married William E. Green, and he died in 2003. Flora is survived by her daughters, Margaret John Mauntler, of Troy, and Cathie Bob Sankey, of Tiffin, and son Ken, of Woodville, as well as five grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Douglas Peg Harter, of Roseburg, Oregon. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Beth and Ann. Flora was a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church and its Prayer Shawl Ministry. She loved to bake and work in her garden. A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodville United Methodist Church. Friends will be received one hour preceding the service, and a luncheon will follow. Burial will be private at a later date. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Genoa, is assisting the family with arrangements.The family would like to thank Dr. John Pierce and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. It was her wish that memorials be made to the church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
