Fentrus Ellen Fennie Mason

Fentrus Ellen Fennie Mason age 93, formerly of Sylvania Township, passed away Friday, September 07, 2007, in Heartland of Oregon Care Center. She was born November 23, 1913, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to Irvin and Mary LaBounty. Fennie was a kindergarten teacher at Warren Elementary School in Toledo for many years, retiring in the mid 1970s. A character actress for the Village Players, Toledo Repertoire Theatre and Playhouse in the Park, she was also an accomplished bridge player and member of the former Dramatic Readers Club. Fennie was a 20 year resident of Jupiter, Florida, moving back to this area in 2000. The widow of H. Lowell Mason, she is survived by her children, Melinda Powers, Jeffrey Julie Mason, Barry Mason and Sally Larry Schmidt; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey. The family suggests memorials to the Toledo Animal Shelter, 640 Wyman St. Toledo, Ohio.
