Evonne Jean Shackelford

Evonne Jean Shackelford, 77, of Millbury, died Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2014, in her home.  Evonne was born January 24, 1937, in Genoa, Ohio, to Edward and Thelma (Hagemeyer) Neff.  On May 15, 1954, in Genoa she married George A. Shackelford and he preceded her in death May 22, 1992.  Evonne enjoyed her collection of seraphim angels, doing puzzles in the afternoon, and, in the past, working small crafts.  Mostly she enjoyed being around her family, which was very important to her.  Going to the casino with her cousin, Frederick Diebert, was a great enjoyment.  She had a broad retail experience of 30 years in the shoe business-working at Shift Shoes, Crosby Shoes and retiring from Phillips Shoes at the Woodville Mall.  Later she cleaned houses for elderly women. Evonne is survived by her son, Richard (Lori) Shackelford, daughters, Sherry (Rob) Cannon and Beth (Bill) Szabo and son-in-law, Wesley Reeder; grandchildren, Kelli (Chuck) Fink, Jodi Szabo-Brossia, Ronald (Lisa) Potter, Michael Vaughan, Alan Reeder and Dakota Shackelford; great grandchildren, Savannah DeLeon, Ronald Potter III, Makayla Vaughan and Isaiah Brossia; siblings, Doris Greer, Jerry (Sharon) Neff and Diane (Dan) Peterson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kathy Reeder, brothers, Edward and Walter Neff, and Sisters, Kathleen Caswell and Sylvia Runion. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014, the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio.  The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.  The family has suggested memorial contributions for Evonne to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Mukherjee, and also Dr. Shaili Desai at Bay Park Oncology.
