Evia Wilkerson

Our precious mother, Evia E Wilkerson went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning August 4, 2023 at 4:30 am. at the age of 97. Evia was born in Flint, Michigan to parents Herbert and Cassie Barton on December 7, 1925. Evia was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Richard P. Anderson; second husband, Paul R. Wilkerson; son, Phillip R. Anderson; and sisters, Joyce Mulvaney, Geraldine Wallace and Lorain Snow. She is survived by her bothers, Lloyd and Jimmy Dickinson; sons, Paul and Bob Anderson; Daughters-in-law, Sharla Anderson and Alice Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Evia attended Central Bible College for two years obtaining her associates degree. She worked many years as an administrative assistant to the Vice President of Owens Corning as well as administrative assistant at Calvary Assembly of God church.

Evia was a hostess extraordinary. She touched so many lives with her hospitality, loving and welcoming all. She fed us all well, especially with her famous homemade spaghetti and meat balls, dutch babies and triple layered banana cake. Her recipes will live on through all of us. Evia was strong to the very end stating many times that, “I feel great and have no pain and I can eat whatever I want.” She was a prayer warrior and always thanked the Lord for all the blessings in her life. We are all better having known her.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-893-7686). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God, 665 W. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
