Evelyn A. Welsheimer

On August 9, 2010, Evelyn Allene Welsheimer went home to be with her Lord in her Columbus home. Her children and grandchildren celebrate her unwavering faith and final homecoming. Evelyn was born on November 24th, 1918 in North Braddock, PA to Howard and Jesse Nicodemus Rose. In 1945, Evelyn chose to serve her country by enlisting in the U.S.Navy as a WAVE, and honorably served at the Great Lakes Navel Base. On April 2, 1948, Evelyn married Gerald Welsheimer. They were together for 51 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, brothers Joe, Frank, Glen, Richard and Paul Rose, and sister Florence Dunbar. She is survived by her children Kay Lynn Clauss, Kenneth Welsheimer, Holly Gutek, Heidi Fitch, her grandchildren Erin Szymczak, Zachary Welsheimer, Josh Clauss, Abby Welsheimer, Ashley Lenz, Benjamin Gutek, Jordan Fitch, Amanda Gutek, Kyle Gutek. Evelyn is also survived by her great grandsons Jonah and Rowan Szymczak and Cooper Lenz. Family and friends may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 12 noon.
